
An existing brick fireplace surround was carefully removed to expose the original chimney breast and internal masonry. Damaged and uneven areas were repaired and rebuilt where required, the opening was reshaped and made good, and the surrounding chimney breast was replastered to create a clean, simple finish while retaining the exposed brickwork within the opening.
The original fireplace surround was dismantled to allow access to the existing structure. Once exposed, the masonry was inspected, repaired and rebuilt where necessary before the new opening was formed and the chimney breast prepared and replastered.
