Living Room Redecoration and Bespoke Shelving Refresh – Hither Green

This living room redecoration in Hither Green focused on transforming the existing space through a bold, coordinated colour scheme. Midnight Teal was applied across the walls, skirting boards, picture rail, fireplace surround and existing shelving, with selected shelving compartments finished in contrasting Pugin Red. The radiator was also finished in a dark tone, while the ceiling, cornices and door were kept white to create a clean contrast and retain the room‘s original architectural character. 

Existing Living Room Before Redecoration

Before the redecoration began, the living room featured predominantly white walls and joinery, with the existing shelving, fireplace surround and radiator all finished in lighter tones. The original timber floor, decorative cornices, picture rail and other period details were retained as part of the room‘s character, while the space was prepared for the new colour scheme. 

Shelving Preparation and Colour Transformation 

  The existing built-in shelving was prepared for redecoration before the new colour scheme was introduced. Midnight Teal was used as the main finish across the shelving structure, while selected compartments were painted Pugin Red to create a bold contrast and add visual depth to the feature wall.
